A Lesson on Timing

For those who don't know, I'm very impatient. When I want something, most times I want it immediately. I don't like the waiting game. Patience is a virtue I just don't possess. But bless those who do.

A few weeks ago, one of my best friend fell on hard times. Like real hard times. It was to the point where I wanted to help so bad but I wasn't in the position to do so. All I could do was pray for her and honestly count my blessings.

Though she had found some resolve, she & I knew it was temporary. A short time after that, it seemed that she had finally found a more permanent resolution. But of course, another block in the road hindered her from getting her completely out of this situation.

When she related to me the road block, I said an affirmative prayer that this block would be removed when the time was right. However, I was secretly hoping it would be removed way sooner because it seemed as if she was on a deadline. I didn't hear from her for about two weeks and grew worried that her attempted resolution fell through and my prayers for her went unanswered. She always hits me up with good news so the fact that she didn't made believe she was still stuck.

Something told me to check up on her so like a good bestie, I did. Come to find out, everything worked out. The road block had been removed and she's in the process of getting herself situated hence the delay in telling me. Now her problem didn't resolve when she wanted it to. It resolved when God wanted it to.

I don't know if any of you ever heard of the well known medium John Edwards, but he has a quote that I started to live by:

"Everything happens the way it's supposed to."

We have our time that we want things whether it's a new car, job, a problem solved, love, etc. And God wants to give us all those things, if not, something better. But He tends to operate on a different schedule than us. Something I like to refer to as Divine timing.

If there's something you desire or a problem in your life, know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But you must open your eyes. You must trust that God is with you and not leading you astray. As hard it may seem, you must let go and let God and trust that he will be right on time.

If it counts for anything, He usually is.

Peace & Light,
